{ Friday Foto Friends #170 }

To be honest, when I decided to discontinue FFF about 5 weeks ago, I was not in a good place. A couple of situations in my life had begun to take a toll on me and with my personality and tendency to "overthink" (oh, how I hope that isn't you because it can wreak havoc with one's psyche) I wasn't handling life very well and it took a toll. I tried to get all things that weren't necessary off my plate and FFF was one of those things that I felt I could scrape off. Are things any better? Well, nothing has changed as far as the situations, but I feel like I have. I've taken even more time to dig into God's word, reading a book that deals with those unexpected things that pop up in our lives and I'm trying to put my focus on Him. I still have my moments.....
okay, let's face it, I still have my days!
But His peace is a wonderful thing to have and He's blessing with me more and more of that.  Thank you so much, sweet Friends, for bearing with me and for your prayers. Friends are truly one of the most important things in this life and I have some great ones!

So, without further adieu.....
let's get on with our Friday Foto Friends link-up!

I went around the yard one day this week and took some fotos of the flowers blooming.
I obviously really like PURPLE, huh?
😊

Grape hyacinths -
I can't remember where I originally got these from, but they've taken over so if you're local and want some bulbs, please let me know

Pretty daffodils that came from my Mamaw's old home place

 Creeping phlox from my Mom's

Plum tree in bloom -
we got the cutting from my precious father-in-law many years ago

Lenten rose from......
Lowe's!
These are pretty high priced but this one was on a sale rack several years ago because a spring freeze had nipped it. I love it because it's usually blooming on my birthday in January!
Isn't it gorgeous?

Gorgeous sky going through a drive-through in Kodak one evening

And, if we're Facebook friends you've already seen my dough bowl.
My sweet girl asked me to go to Newport with her one evening this week and we headed to Goodwill first. I found this beauty and grabbed it up and hung onto it for dear life because, Y'all, it was only $1.99. I've wanted a dough bowl for YEARS but have you priced them? Phew - that's why I've wanted one for years. This one has a pretty bad crack, but I told Cindy I think that just gives it character.  I'm hoping my brother can maybe help his sister out with fixing the crack - (brother are you reading this?).
😊

It's good to be back, Y'all!

HOPE everybody has a great weekend -
if you need me, I'll be at the soccer field for 3 hours straight - because I love those grands!!!

Blessings,

  1. Good Morning Debbie!! And Welcome Back! We have missed gathering here with you, and we are so glad that you have had some time to "rest" in the Lord's grace, and that He has renewed you to the place where you can join back with us here in "blogland". Our God is so good! He knows exactly what we need and how to meet those needs. Praying still for you and you continue in this time of "healing". Love your spring flower pictures...so gorgeous!! I know springtime in the hill country is so lovely. One day I'd love to take another trip up there in the springtime. Also I love your "dough bowl"..that is really unique and beautiful, even if it does have a crack. Maybe it can be fixed, but if not it just adds to its character and interest. Enjoy it!!! God bless you dear friend. And thank you again for being here for us. I hope others have gotten the message by now and will soon be linking back up.

  3. Good morning and thank you, Debbie. I was excited to see you are resuming the FFF. Please know there are probably too many of us out here who have a tendency to overthink, but getting into God's word and cutting some of those things out to take time for a rest is something we all should do from time to time. Your photos are beautiful and so glad you shared today. What a blessing to live amongst such beauty of nature.

  5. Loving the beautiful flowers Deb. Girl...praying for your precious spirit. Lordy mercy...don't we all have days. I have found myself recently 2nd questioning several things. I have also had to sit down and realize what areas of my life needed to change for the best? And what areas did I see that Satan was attacking in that was making me feel like I felt! I know Deb...this all sounds crazy right now. LOL! However, I just wanted to say that I GET IT girl...Love you. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  7. That dough bowl is beautiful!

I'm doing a Bible Study by Priscilla Shier called One in a Million and it's about the Children of Israel coming out of Egypt and talking about the wilderness and how we all go through them. Sounds like it goes right along with what God is teaching you.
