Fantastic Friday #38

HOPE everybody's year has started off "Fantastic"!!!

Somebody told me at church that she felt like 2013 was going to be a very good year for Pappy and me. 
 I think so, too!!

I know we're only on Day 4, but so far, so good!!!

Here are a few things I saw this week that made me smile.....



Thinking along the lines of the next two have contributed to why I'm having to try to loose some weight.....

....and these were just the best.
I'll never look at statutes the same again!!!



And, this one....well, it just spoke lots of truth to my heart and I know it's something God worked on me about last year....and still is.....

Fantastic Friday - Edition #37

Hello, my name is Deb....

....and I'm totally addicted to Pinterest!!!

I can waste more time on there just pinning and pinning....

....but never actually doing!!!

I recently saw a simple recipe on there, though that I actually tried for what I call apple dumplings, but the recipe called them "Apple Pie Bites".  I didn't follow the recipe step by step probably because I'm too much like my Mamaw....you know a pinch of this or that and add something about the 
"size of a hen egg"!!!

And, mine did not turn out looking like hers, either.  I pinched the ends and top of the crescent roll to make it more of a....dumpling!!!!

Fantastic Friday - Edition #36 & and a Give-A-way!!!

Happy, happy Friday, Sweet Readers!!!

Have y'all had a good week?

I sure hope so!!

The last couple of weeks in our neck of the woods have been a bit of a roller coaster!   There are lots of things going on with CHRISTmas coming up and a new job for Pappy and getting ready for Miss Ruby Kate's arrival, and, and, and....it's enough to make an old lady's head spin, and that's pretty much what mine's been doing!!!  I've been experiencing some bouts of high BP and headaches, so if you want to send up an extra prayer for me, I would be sooooo grateful!!!

Since it's getting close to CHRISTmas and I haven't had a give-a-way in quite some time, I'm feeling like that's just what needs to happen!!!

Now, I know that y'all don't like owlies as much as I do....but, they've become so very popular and if you should win and don't really want it for yourself, then I'm sure you know of an owl lover....besides me!!!

I saw this tree topper at Target and they also had small tree ornaments.
We get the boys an ornament every year and I write their name on it, along with the year.  The ornaments were on sale at 3/$5, so I bought blue (Sam), red (Sawyer), and pink (Ruby Kate). There were even purple ones....but, no I didn't get one for muah!!!

Fantastic Friday - Edition #34!!!

Hey, Sweet Readers!!!

Have y'all had a great week?

I sure hope so!!!

Can you even believe that THANKSgiving is less than a week away....that this time next week if you stop by and visit it will be "Black Friday"!!  I have some friends who make Black Friday a family tradition....Mommas and  their daughters and GRAND-daughters going out early and making a day out of spending time together....sweet memories!!! 

Anyway....speaking of THANKSgiving, and because I like to make things fun on Friday's....and because I adore emoticons, as you can probably tell if you visit me often....that's what I want to share today....some of the cutest little emoticons I've ever seen that have to do with fall of the year.....and THANKSgiving.....

And....for those who know me REALLY well....you know that I have the absolute biggest sweet tooth in the whole wide world....actually every tooth in my head is a "sweet tooth"....especially for CHOCOLATE!!!!

Fantastic Friday - Edition #33!!!

Every single day this week, I've been a day ahead.

Like all day Monday, I thought it was Tuesday.

I have to take my Mom to the doctor today, and I told her Wednesday what time we would leave "in the morning".  I think I confused her, too!!!

Could it have something to do with the time change?!?

Or....just old age?!?!?

Yeah, that's what I thought, too....it's the time change!!!

 Speaking of "time", can you believe that THANKSgiving is less than two weeks away?  Where has Twenty-Twelve gone?  When I was a kid, it seemed like it took forever for something to take place, like the end of the school year, or CHRISTmas....and now that I'm old....um, older....time simply flies!!!

And....speaking of THANKSgiving....what are your plans?

Do you have a big day planned with family?

What do y'all eat....turkey and all the trimmings, or ham, or maybe even something else?

What are some of your side dishes?

What's your favorite dessert?

And, do y'all participate in Black Friday sales?

Fantastic Friday - Edition #32!!!

So many things in my life make it "FANTASTIC"!!!

But.....today, I want to share one of the most awesome things that has happened to us recently.  I've shared with y'all that our daughter and son-in-law are adopting from Uganda.  They had at first asked for 2 children, if there were siblings in the orphanage at the time their 'number' came up.  As it turned out, that wasn't what God had in store.  Jess had felt for some time that there would only be one child this time (yes, they are planning to adopt again).  A couple of months ago, Jess was in what she calls "the girls' room" praying and Sam, our 6-year old GRANDson, came in the room and told her that he would really like to see his baby sister "today".  Within 5 minutes....Jess received an e-mail from the adoption agency in the States with their referral.  We've since decided that we will give Sam all our prayer requests!!!  

  The picture they were sent was of a precious little baby girl.  After our son-in-law got home from work and they had time to gain their composure (after all, this journey has been about 18 months long), they told the lady at the agency "YES"....we want her!!!  

Even though I cannot share her picture with y'all until they get her back on American soil....just take my word for it that she is beautiful.  She will be two years old next week.  Her name is Ruby Kate, and she will be called both names....RubyKate!!!  That was her paternal GRANDmother's name.  

This post is not only to share my "FANTASTIC" news, but to ask for prayer.

Here are some specific prayer requests.....

* for a court date soon so they can bring Miss Ruby Kate home

* that the stay in Uganda will be short

* for health and safety as they travel

Please keep our precious GRAND-daughter in your prayers.

We are so excited to get her home and welcome her into our family!!!
