If the shoe fits.....

It all started with a $1.00 pair of canvas shoes I found at a yard sale.....

add to that my adoration of all things pertaining to owlies.....

and I've got myself a pair of cute shoes!!!

'cause I'm not an artist!

And, I didn't realize how big I painted "me" until I took pictures.

Guess I was just keepin' it real!!!

What a Deal!!!

Part of being a "wise old owl" is bargain shopping.  Of course, with the economy we're living in, we all have to be frugal these days....especially, during this season of unemployment for Pappy.  I have a favorite thrift store that I love to go to.  One reason is because all the proceeds go to Appalachian Outreach and a local charity called The Samaritan House, where people can live until they get back on their feet.  It's only open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and we usually go there on Thursday's 'cause they've put out a lot of "new" stuff.  We were there last Thursday, and look what I found for ONE DOLLAR....

They are in great condition, except for a couple of scuff marks on the toes.  Pappy told me that with New Balance, the higher the number (style of shoe)  the better the shoe is.  So....out of curiosity, I checked the New Balance web-site.  You can purchase these shoes for a mere....

....ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-NINE DOLLARS!!!    

And....did you notice....

....the trim is all in PURPLE?!?!?

Ain't God good?

Oh, yes HE is!!!
