{ Friday Foto Friends #81 }

Y'all, I almost thought I'd be sharing pics of snow today because it's been COLD around my neck of the woods.  Okay, cold is an exaggeration but the temps this week have been nothing like you'd expect for the month of May. All day yesterday, it only got to around 66 degrees and with the wind it was sweater weather once again.  

So, here's my offering for today.....

A big "hen" and lots of little "chicks".

These originally came from my paternal Grandmother.....

we called her Mammie!

I know you're tired of all of my birdie pics by now, but this should be the last nest full.  These are mockingbirds, not robins, though.  It's not a very clear pic because the little fellows were moving thinking I was their Momma and gonna feed them some yummy worms! 

My lilies are bursting into bloom.  

I've told y'all before that we don't live where I can get good pics of the sunset, so I had to go on our back porch, raise the blinds, tiptoe, stand on a ladder, then stand on my head.....

no, I'm just kidding.....

but, it really is difficult to get a good view from our house. 

This was the sky one morning on my walk.

(Yes....I'm trying to keep it up....yay, me!)

Look at this bloom!  Mercy, it's gorgeous and HUGE. No, it's not in our yard but the garden center at Lowe's.  And, for close to $40, it stayed in the garden center at Lowe's!  ;-)

This just made me smile.  I was sitting in the car waiting on Pappy to get some blood work done and glanced over to the side of the doctor's office and saw this "face"!

And, you know I rarely post pictures of myself.  Why are we girls like that, though?  So, against my better thinking, here's a selfie I took yesterday to show my sweet friend, Stephanie, a picture of the owlie scarf she gave me recently.....

{ Morning, Glory }

Morning glories blooming in a ditch along one of the roads I walked down this morning brought a smile to my face and joy to my heart. They are a reminder that love and acceptance and a bit of encouragement can bring out the beauty in each of us.

I Peter 3:4

{ Early Morning }

I took these pics with my cell phone, so they're not the best quality.  It was one of those times you just had to be there to realize the true beauty of the early morning sun peeking through the trees.  This is the best part about my morning walks.  I know there are physical benefits but they are so good for my Spiritual health and well-being!

I Timothy 4:8

Physical training is good, 

but training for godliness is much better, 

promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.

Let's walk and talk.....

My knee is doing a bit better,

all thanks to our lovely daughter!!!

She won a gift basket from a health food store and there was a bottle of healthy stuff for joints.....

so she was kind enough to think of her Momma.

It's helped a lot,

although it's still quite painful at times.

Add to my "joint juice" the fact that Pappy's doctor told him to get out and walk due to a health issue with his back.....

and that makes for a great team to walk around the neighborhood!!!

Today's the first day of Spring!!!

The weather is turning warmer in our neck of the woods, 
although we had a day of nothing but monsoons earlier this week.  

I've been getting outside and walking some with my sweet friend, Ms. Evelyn. 

The knee still isn't what it should be....but I'm ever so grateful that I can walk because at one point I could barely make it down the hall to the kitchen!!

My walking isn't just for the physical benefits.....

.....it helps me so much emotionally.....

.....and even spiritually!!!

Anybody else feel that way about "exercise"?

I just barely got my head in the picture, didn't I?!?!

This was taken yesterday on a walking trail in Jefferson City!!  I've begged hubby to walk with me for YEARS!!!  He's only started recently....simply because his doctor asked him what he did for exercise....and I told him,

"plays with the GRAND-sons"!!!

He told him he would like for him to get from 20-30 minutes of exercise every day!!!

So....hubby listened....YIPPEE!!!

(and I promise I didn't pay the doctor to tell him that!!!)
