Constructive Criticism?

Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Refine...me!":
Sounds very religious but not very accurate. Silver is placed in a crucible and heated for hours, or even days. Silver is not a hotdog held over the flames. You cannot over heat or destroy it. After it is heated and cooled, it is reheated and cooled again and again. You cannot tell "coin" silver from sterling from fine silver by looking at it to see your image. In the word, silver represents redemption. We are his workmanship and he is responsible for our completion. He is able to complete the work He has started and He is faithful to see us totally redeemed. It is obvious that you wish only to glorify our Lord, however, repeating easily verified falsehoods doesn't seem to be the best way to do so.

A few weeks ago, I posted something that I had received in an e-mail about refining silver. You can read about it here "Refine Me". I also wrote a post about "Are You Religious", explaining that my faith....my belief in Jesus Christ as my Savior....is much more than a "religion". I'm not sure how "Anonymous" found this post, but he left the comment above. I chose not to allow it to be published to my blog, but realize now that was a mistake. At first it bothered me....but it made me stop and think and realize that everything that I say on my blog can be read by millions of people all over the world....if they so choose. That's why I truly try to back up what I say with scripture....and let others know where I'm coming from....and, what prompted the train of thought that led to the post. If "Anonymous" read "Are You Religious", too, he might not have left the comment that he did, I don't know. For those of you who follow my blog, I'm sure that you've come to know me a bit better....and realize that I write from my heart and soul. Maybe I should have checked out the facts about refining silver....but....the actual art of refining silver wasn't what I got from the little "story" , nor was that the point I was trying to make....and I definitely wasn't trying to tell you that this is exactly how the job is done, because that's very far out of the realm of my expertise. I just got out of it the fact that God loves me....and can...and does...use me....and I know that He's still working on me....but....I have a long way to go to ever be "in His image"!!!
We all have the right to our own opinion....and as I've heard before....when we get to heaven we're all going to realize that we were wrong about something....but then, it ain't gonna matter!!! AMEN? AMEN!!!

  1. Amen! You know, Miss Louise knows how to tell you who your "anonymous" comment was from. And if they are so sure of themselves...why post it without showing their name? Oh well...

  2. Debbie, don't worry about what "Anonymous" said. You know that Satan is always trying to throw stumbling blocks in our paths.

  3. What I got from your blog is God is always refining us just like silver is refined. There will be people out there who will speak their opinion and some will bring up scripture to back their opinion. Just remember the devil is like a roaring lion on the prowl and is always using people for his advantage, an advantage that in the long run very disappointing. love ya, keep writing the way you write.
