{ Friday Foto Friends #5 }

I can't believe that Thanksgiving has already come and gone and Christmas is only 3 weeks away.
How can that even be possible?
Do you have all your shopping done?
How about wrapping?
I haven't wrapped the first thing,
but plan to get started on that this weekend.
I put up our tree earlier this year than I ever have in our 39 Christmases together,
and I'm really enjoying it.
I love to turn it on early in the morning when I'm doing my devotions.

I adore this little tree.  It came from Big Lots and we've had it for many years.  The snowflakes and pine cones came from Dollar Tree.  Many of the owls were gifts, we got some from Big Lots, and some from Dollar General Store.  The burlap "garland" was bought at Hobby Lobby.  I can't remember where I got the twig star on top.  I adore the tree "skirt".  It's actually a bed sheet that my Mamaw made out of grain sacks, so yes, it's very old.  I think I was the only grandchild that wanted it.  I love placing it around the bottom of the tree and remembering my precious Mamaw.

HOPE you all will link up with a picture of your own!
It can even be an older post from this week, if you want!

Happy Friday, Everybody.

HOPE you have a great weekend!

  2. First of all - I love, love, love the header! It made me shiver as I looked at it but how beautiful! The majority of my gifts are wrapped and mailed. I am working on a quilt for a friend but that won't be a problem. I love your pretty tree! Deb, I tried to decorate my little tree like that one year - with pine cones etc. but it didn't come out near as lovely as yours! That was year I had been expecting to move to TN and it didn't happen. I love your tree and decorations. The tree skirt is so special and such a wonderful reminder of your Mamaw. I have a feeling we have similar decorating taste! Have a blessed day.

  3. Love your little tree and the 'owlies' that live in it! Our family is so big now we have decided not to exchange gifts. We are having our family Christmas get-together on the 19th, that way the girls can be with their families on Christmas. We will be giving gifts to sweet little Ava and Emma though, and plan to start out Christmas morning and visit each of our daughters for a little while. Hope Tracey (oldest daughter) has breakfast for us. She always has the best Christmas morning breakfast !! God Bless and hope you're enjoying this wonderful time of year.

  4. I love your tree decorations! We don't have ours up yet. MAYBE we'll do it this weekend, but I'm still not sure about doing it this year. We'll see.

  6. I love the tree, especially the sheet around the bottom as it has special meaning for you. I called my grandmother Mamaw too, and she was priceless. She loved Christmas and as we (my Mom and I) lived with her, we enjoyed everything about the season.
