{ Wednesday's Word - Anger }

an·ger

  1. a strong feeling of annoyance, displeasure, or hostility.

    synonyms:rage,exasperation, crossness, irritationirritability, indignation

  an-gry

  feeling or showing anger; wrathful

Often God will give me a word to focus on when doing my quiet time with Him.  Sometimes the word will come to mind (because of the Holy Spirit placing it there) and other times it will show up in several different places so I feel that's what He's wanting me to think about.  One day last week it was the word "anger", or "angry".  Now, that's not something I'm liking to admit because I know you're thinking to yourself that I must really have an anger problem for God to point it out to me in bold letters.  If that's kinda what's running through your mind.....

well, you're right.

I do have an anger problem sometimes.

Along with a multitude of other issues.....

But.....

He's still working on me.
To make me what I ought to be.
It took Him just a week to make the moon and the stars,
the Sun and the Earth,
Jupiter and Mars.
How loving and patient He must be.
'Cause He's still working on me!

I've been guilty of this at times.....

Often you'll pick up on their bad habits.....
and vice versa!

  3. An excellent post, Debbie! If we are all honest we have to admit that we, too, have an anger problem at times...even though our heart's desire is to be more like Jesus. Thank you so much for being honest and transparent with us here, my friend. You are in my prayers.

  5. Oh how I wish I could get rid of all the things that weigh me down. Anger can be a problem for me and I'm so often muttering "I'm sorry, Lord" when I get angry. I love that song and I remember singing it to my children when they were small. Now, as adults, it would probably annoy them if I did. (LOL)

  8. wow!!! Thank you for this reminder. There are MOMENTS...well, we all have those "flash points" in life...and then we regret them often times almost immediately, but the damage is already done. Thank you for reminding me about anger...I pray The Lord will help me remember it when I need it most!!

  9. When the Lord talks to us, as He has to you, it is because He is perfecting us, and just helping us work out the imperfections in our lives so we can be more like Him. He loves us so much, and His desire is to make us more like Him. I too am guilty of those flesh moments when you wonder where those emotions came from, and thankfully we have an advocate with Him, we can go to Him, and ask Him to help us to seal our lips when they need to be sealed, and open when they need to be opened. Appreciate your honest posting today, may the precious blessings of the Lord be with you!
