{ Friday Foto Friends #136 }

Have you had a good week? I sure do HOPE so! We've had storms and power outages and rains that were close to monsoons! I spent some time yesterday picking up sticks and limbs from the yard that the wind blew from the trees.  I did manage to get a few fotos this week so here goes.....

There's just something about a freshly mowed field full of hay bales!

This is a farm we pass in Jefferson City on the way to our favorite thrift store!

Pappy had a doctor's appointment this week and we took a back road to get to our daughter's and came upon this old abandoned house. I love the red siding.

Behind the house and across the road were row after row of grape vines.

That's all the fotos for me today!

Do you have plans for this weekend before the 4th of July?

Whatever you do, stay safe out there with so many folks traveling because of vacations and the holiday!

  4. Love, love, love the haybales and a freshly mown field...love the horses and that old red farmhouse makes me want to explore...interesting that there were grapevines behind the house...maybe the property is not abandoned...just the house. Also loved the quote at the beginning about "Life is like a camera". May I borrow that? I love it, and it suits me to a T. As of today, we don't have any particular plans for the 4th. Not sure what we are doing since it is on a Wed., and people don't like to travel here in the middle of the week if they have to work the next day, etc. So, we shall see. We are usually the place they come to, but I haven't put out any "invitations" as of yet...too much else has been going on to think about it yet. Hope your weekend and 4th are times of blessing for you and your family.

  7. Gee, I'm really sorry about all the damages caused by the monsoons. I sure would like to have a good bit of that rain though. Everything is burning up around here. Love your country drive and that red house is really cool. Great pics. I now have to go back and change my Friday Foto Friends to include your new FFF ID photo! I like it! Our plans for the week of the 4th are pretty much life as usual, although I want to see the movie about Mr. Rogers and at church we will be having BBQ and praying for our nation. We will watch fireworks from our patio as they are displayed across the lake.

  9. Every time I see your pictures I just want to run over, get in the car, and run around with you all day to see all these beautiful spots. I just love our area. There are cows across from the exit from my subdivision. But I never have my camera out when I'm driving by them. They are some beautiful Holsteins or as we always called them "milk cows". I need to get a pic of them

  10. I like your pictures! Don't you just wonder about the people who have lived in the abandoned house? They always make me kind of sad that they have been left to decay and fall apart.

  11. A delightful guided tour of your area. I can't help but wonder what the rain did to the hay bales, but I'm sure farmers have had to deal with that before.
