{ Friday Foto Friends #14 }

Okay.....
I know I'm late in saying this,
but I cannot even begin to believe that it's February already.
Oh, my, we're going to be Christmas shopping again before we even know it.
Our grand-kiddos stayed with me a while Wednesday and the older boys are already looking at things to get them for their birthdays.....
and, they're 5 and 10 months away!
Now, yes, Nannie is getting a bit slow in her old(er) age, but I'm really not that bad.....
yet!!!
They just get excited when it comes to Pappy and Nannie buying them gifts!

It's hard to believe this is week 14 of our Friday Foto Friends, too.
One exciting thing about the year going by so fast, though, is I'm getting closer to my next birthday.
Now, why would that be exciting to me?
Because I get to draw Social Security!
;-)
(if our current President doesn't do away with it before he leaves office)

Often when I share things on my blog, it's a way for me to document things I want to keep.  That's what today's pictures are.  Around CHRISTmas time my cousin asked me on Facebook if I could find our Mamaw's stack cake recipe for him because his fiance wanted to make it for his brother and Dad.  I asked Mom, and she came across these two handwritten recipes.

This is Mom's.....

.....and this is Mamaw's.....
Notice she wrote that this recipe was for a "biger" (bigger) cake.....
love her precious heart.
Oh, my that woman could bake and cook!

Here's a picture I took just a while back of Mom standing in front of Mamaw's house.
I have some awesome memories of time spent there.....

HOPE everybody has a great Friday and weekend.

  3. Love that picture of the house and your Mother. Something about it reminds me of simpler times. Such a peaceful, sunny day too!

  4. There is just something peaceful about the picture of your Mom standing by Mamaw's house, maybe it's because you know it represents so many memories. I am such a sentimental old lady! Have a great day full of blessings from above!! ((hugs))
