{ Thursday Thoughts }

Just a few rambling thoughts......

July is a big birthday month for us.
Our son-in-love's birthday was last weekend (he turned the BIG 4-O), our youngest grandboy is up next, turning 5, then at the end of the month is our oldest grandson, who'll be 12. Where does the time go, Y'all? It seems like yesterday we were at the hospital waiting on our first grandchild, not 12 years ago!

****************************************************************************************************************

It's hotter than blue blazes in East Tennessee!
This old, um older lady has discovered just this year that the heat is not her friend. I'm finding it difficult to breathe in this weather and I've never noticed that problem in the past.  It has nothing to do with age.....
does it?!?!?

****************************************************************************************************************

What in the world would we chat about if we didn't have the weather to discuss? I'm turning into my Mom!

****************************************************************************************************************

Our little garden is doing quite well, except for the cucumbers. We are finding a few cukes but where are bees when you need them? I've already picked fresh green beans and we're getting lots of maters.....so yummy.

****************************************************************************************************************

Tell me that I'm not the only person whose hair grows like a weed in the summertime. I'm not sure I've ever noticed that before. It has nothing to do with age.....
does it?!?

****************************************************************************************************************

Update on my she-shed!
Pappy has found me one and the fellow was really anxious to get rid of it, but then things just stalled. He went out of town for the 4th of July and now is dragging his feet about cleaning it out. I can't say that I blame him in this heat, though. If it's meant to be, it'll be, right? I'm learning not to get my hopes up about much of anything anymore, just wait and see.

****************************************************************************************************************

Y'all, I REALLY need a vacation.
When we went to the beach at Christmas with our kiddos, that was the first vacation we'd had in I truly can't remember how long. Life is getting a bit tedious with added responsibilities and I can't see us being able to get away anytime soon.....
but a girl can dream!  As my Momma used to tell me  growing up, "Nothing ever stays the same."

****************************************************************************************************************

You know what happens to an older lady who trips over her own feet (actually it was a basket) and falls on a tiled floor? She hurts her already bum ankle and days later keeps discovering sore spots, knee, hip, big toe! It has nothing to do with age.....
does it?!?!?

****************************************************************************************************************

How many of you don't sleep well?
I haven't for several years, but it's getting worse.
It has nothing to do with age.....
does it?!?

****************************************************************************************************************

Just for fun.....

Thanks for sticking with me through this senseless rambling, Y'all!

HOPE you have a terrific Thursday!

  2. Oh my...fresh green beans and tomatoes and cucumbers...yummy. We've had creamed peas and new potatoes so far, but none of what you are enjoying now. It will come though. :)

  3. Not senseless at all! And I think most everything you mentioned does indeed have to do with age... whether we want to admit it or not. Sigh. I say frequently that I just have low expectations now about most everything. That way, when something actually turns out well, I can be surprised and thrilled! Take care, my friend!! Hope you can get a vacation scheduled soon!

  4. Love your ramblings, and totally understand them all. I fell like that a couple of weeks ago, and the scabs just fell off yesterday...my ego is still "bruised". LOL. It is hot here too, and I couldn't go out and walk this evening with hubby...too hot to breathe...yep! Your garden sounds so good. Wish we had one, but the deer and rabbits would be the ones enjoying it instead of us. Happy Birthday to all of your family members. Fall will be here soon, right????
