A Wise Old Owl Designs Scarf!!!

One of the first things that I pinned on......

  .....was a scarf that our daughter, Jess, had found and loved. When I was trying to decide what to make for her birthday, I happened to remember the scarf she had admired.
(Yay, me for something coming into remembrance!!!)  

After sorting thru over 1500 pins on my Crochet Board.....
(what makes me think I'll EVER crochet that many things?!?!)
.....I FINALLY found it.

I didn't have a pattern, just looked at the one that was for sale on Etsy and came up with something similar, but my own design.




The scarf is actually a "lariat".
Here's the back of the flower with a little loop I crocheted and sewed on.
That way....the flower can be pinned to a purse, lapel, etc.!!!

Carson Newman Scarf!!!

I quite often get "delete happy".....a term I use when I get all excited about cleaning out my Inbox.  But....in doing so.....I deleted an e-mail I had received from a sweet lady ordering a scarf like the one pictured.  I know she's an English professor at Carson Newman.....but I cannot remember her name.  If any of you know who this lady might be....or if you're the one who ordered the scarf and you're reading this.....

I've been busy!!!

I bet y'all thought I had just given up on crocheting....nope....just sorta got slack on taking pics!!!  So....I chose today....in over 100 degree heat....to go outside and take these pics!!!

This little hat and booties are for a precious couple who have been so instrumental in helping with the fund raising for adoption of our new GRANDkid(s) from Uganda.  Thru that first fundraiser for our kids, they've started a ministry to help others who are adopting.  This is for their third precious little baby....a girl to go along with their two boys.  This set is for Miss MaKenna.....

This hat and booties are for a young lady I just recently met.  I've known her hubby and his Momma for years....and years.  I made these especially for Miss Jasmine....who hasn't arrived yet....
One of the sweetest ladies I've ever met asked me to make 3 scarves for her daughter who will be attending Carson Newman College this fall.  Carson Newman's colors are orange and navy....can you tell?!?!?

We are invited to a cook out with our small group and I wanted to take our hostess a little something, so I made her these hot pads/trivets/decorations....

These are for a sweet lady I go to church with, too!!! She and her hubby were the first to make us feel welcome at our new church about a year ago.  They did something really special for us lately, and this is just a little "thank you".....
And....I told y'all I would share some of the dish/wash cloths I've made using the wonderful Peaces 'N Cream yarn.....

A springtime duo!!!

Finally got pics of this hat and scarf together.

I love the springtime feel it has!!!

We will be having a fashion show at our church the end of this month and this set will be among  donated items to be auctioned off, with the proceeds going to an upcoming mission trip to Guatemala!!!

Oh, so soft.....

....describes this yummy yarn!!!

I told y'all I'd been busy, busy, busy.  

I've been so blessed to have gotten several requests for my little owlies and scarves....and hats!!!  In between those "orders"....I've also had some requests from family members!!!  Here' s the latest scarf I made for Jess (our daughter) to go with a beret I gave her....sorry, but I didn't  get a pic of the beret!!!

In place of fringe, that I get a bit tired of....I opted to crochet a bit of a "ruffle" on each end!!!

I can't share the pattern....because I made it up.  It's just double crochet.  The rows with the "holes" are double crochet, chain one, skip a stitch, and double in the next. The ruffle is a row of double crochet....then, two doubles in each stitch in the second row....and the two end rows are the same as the "holes" in the main scarf body!!!  

Make sense?!?!
