{ Friday Foto Friends #172 }

HOPE spring has arrived where Y'all live.  We've had a beautiful week here, although it's still a tad chilly at night.  Yesterday was gorgeous and warm and I spent lots of time outdoors and then found that I very much needed to find myself some ibuprofen.....
ouch!

One day last week we went through a drive-thru and grabbed lunch and had a chilly picnic at Panther Creek State Park. This was the view from our table.

The sky on the way down the highway one morning. I wasn't driving, by the way.....

And, I thought I'd show you my new to me vehicle.....

Just kidding, of course!
Or, am I?
😉

HOPE everybody has a great weekend!

{ Friday Foto Friends #46 }

I got out the "good" camera one day this week to get some shots of the hummingbirds.  These little creatures just amaze me. I'm pretty sure these pics are actually of two different ones, but at times I've seen three and Pappy said he'd seen four at one time but we've never had but one feeding at a time because they're very territorial and chase each other away.

Why can't we just all get along?
;-)

My sky pic for the week was taken on our way up to see the kiddos yesterday afternoon.  I didn't even realize when I took it that the hay bales got in the pic.  Do y'all like to see a freshly mowed field with hay bales as much as I do?

Thanks so much to everybody who is so faithful to join in each week, or leave a sweet comment.
Only 6 more weeks till our 52nd week celebration!

HOPE y'all have a blessed first weekend of fall!

Can you believe we're 45 weeks into our Friday Foto Friends?
Thank you, sweet Ladies, for sticking with me for almost a year.

Wowsers!!!

If I've figured correctly, we'll hit 52 weeks on Friday, November 4th.  Let's have a party on that day, okay?  Be thinking about how you want to celebrate and what each of us can bring! Of course it'll be an online celebration, but hey, any reason to have a party and eat cake, right?  And, there's gotta be a present.  So, I'm figuring there'll have to be a give-a-way!!!
YIPPEE!
I'm excited, how about you?

Here are my photos for today!

You know I've told y'all how much I love the grocery store, Aldi?  Well, there's another one that is a really close second,  if not a tie.  It's UGO, or United Grocery Outlet.  They have some awesome prices.  On a recent trip, Pappy bought me a little rose bush because it reminded us both of roses he used to send me called "peace".  These days, I'd rather have flowers that will last.  Although it's nice to be thought of occasionally "just because".

Luke 12:27
Look at the lilies and how they grow.
They don’t work or make their clothing,
 yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.

This is a picture that Pappy took of a tree he saw one day at work.
Isn't it odd and fun and funny?

Psalm 148:7, 9, 13
Praise the Lord from the earth.....
fruit trees and all cedars.....
Let them all praise the name of the Lord.
For His Name is very great!

And, what would Friday be without a sky picture?
Jess took this one from their house one evening this week.

Did y'all notice what looks like a cross in the very center?

Psalm 148:3
Praise Him, sun and moon.
Praise Him, all you twinkling stars.

We're expecting some much needed rain this weekend.....
and cooler temps.
I'm seeing fall on the horizon, Friends and welcoming it with open arms!

HOPE everybody has an awesome weekend!

{ Friday Foto Friends #44 }

Proceed with caution.....
sharing LOTS of pics today!

Pappy was off work on Labor Day and we rearranged our bedroom furniture.
I thought I'd share a few of the things in that room that make me happy!

I've never grown tired of my crocheted pillows.
(I didn't do them)
The "Hope" pillow cover was found for $1 at a thrift store.....
got the one in the middle at a thrift store, too.

Several years ago Pappy made me a big shelf and it holds lots of things that have a special meaning to me.

A few more happies.

A cross-stitched "prayer" I made for Pappy many years ago.....
when I could still see well enough to  cross-stitch.

A little coat that Papaw and Mamaw got me when I was a baby, so it's about 60 years old.
 I don't dare wash it for fear it'll fall apart.

Mamaw made me this little dress and my brother made me the wooden cross when he was in high school.

A picture of yours truly wearing that little dress.
Yes, I was a chunky monkey most of my life!!!

Jess got me this angel, too.
The little banner she's holding says,
"You inspire me."

A gift from my precious friend, Teresa, who passed away from pancreatic cancer.
I still miss her so much.

And, these things do please me well.....
sewing, snowmen, baskets, a bee (a symbol of my name), birds, quilts, Christmas, sweaters, a little church.
I bought this with some birthday money one year.

 My Daddy and Mom.

Memories tug at my heart strings.
Memories of sister and brother.
But the fondest of all that I can recall,
are the memories of Father and Mother.

And, what would FFF be without a sky picture.....
or two.....

{ Friday Foto Friends #39 }

This picture was taken by our daughter last evening and she posted it on Instagram with this description.....

"Are you ever literally awestruck at how God works things out? I was told some terrible news at the doctor's office two weeks ago tomorrow. The doctor literally told me it was possibly lymphoma and I had to go for a biopsy "stat." Those were his words. I walked out of his office and sat in my car and cried and cried....and cried the whole way home. But, I couldn't get the song lyrics, "I will praise you in this storm" out of my head. I was uncertain about what my future held. I even began pinning head scarf patterns in a private board on Pinterest. This morning, I got up and was at such peace either way. He ordains it. He is good. BUT this morning, after I went for a needle biopsy, that could possibly turn into outpatient surgery (again, doctor's words), the surgeon said it was just a mass of fat! Lol. I have lost about 25 pounds, and since then, is when this mass appeared. Typing this makes me laugh out loud! I can't praise him enough for a mass of fat and I literally can't quit smiling. And they didn't even have to do a biopsy!!!! Oh how I love my Jesus! I so hope you know Him. He is the only one who can bring perfect peace in a storm. And, Brant left some of his Trail Life stuff here, so I just ran to the church to take him his stuff and this beautiful sky greeted me as I walked out the door!!! Soli Deo gloria!!!!!!!!!"

Only God could end her day with such an awesome example of His promise to His children!

HOPE everybody has an awesomely blessed weekend.

{ Friday Foto Friends #38 }

Pappy and I had lunch at Micky D's Tuesday afternoon and this tree was right outside the window where we sat.  I thought it was was just so pretty and unique.

I think I accidentally got a bird flying over in this pic.   All day yesterday the sun would come out then dark  clouds would roll in then the hot sun again.  We finally got a much needed rain around 6:00 in the evening with more during the night.  Besides the rain, we also got some cooler temps.  Praise the Lord, cause this old lady doesn't do well with the heat we're experiencing this summer.

Would love it if you'd link up with us today and share your photos.

HOPE everybody has a great weekend.
