{ Friday Foto Friends #118 }

Do Y'all have a bucket list?
I don't really, but I do like to say that certain things are on my "bucket list".....
just meaning that's something I'd really like to do someday and one of those things is visiting the Holy Land.  A rather large group from our church, led by our Pastor and his wife,  left for Israel yesterday to be gone until the 26th. I know one shouldn't be jealous, but honestly, I sure am envious. I'm so happy for them and can't wait to hear all about it when they return.

So, just to let them know that they're in my thoughts and prayers I'm sharing a foto of our church!

Happy Friday, Everybody!

HOPE your weekend is chock full of fun!

{ Just Say Thanks }

Y'all, I'm so proud of our church and how they love on and teach Jesus to the kiddos.  These littles are only 2, 3 and 4 years old and they're already memorizing Bible verses.  Their teacher, Ms. Stephanie (my sweet friend) is teaching them a new verse each week on Wednesday night with each verse beginning with a letter of the alphabet. Yesterday during the morning service they sang a THANKSgiving song then recited their verses from A-M, doing the motions that goes along with the verse. "Don't be a turkey" 😊 and watch these short videos. I believe it'll do your heart good to see how Jesus is being poured into these precious little souls.

Happy THANKSgiving week Monday!

{ Monday, Monday }

Last week was a whirlwind of activity and this week is going to be full, too.  Whoever said that retirement was when you can slow down was terribly wrong.  It seems I have more on my plate now than ever and know that if I were still working a full-time job I couldn't get it all done.....
not that I do now!

Anyway....
just wanted to share a few pics of things that caught my eye, made me laugh, or remind me of one of the most important things in my life.....
family!

 Last Monday was my Momma's birthday and we celebrated with a girl's day out.
Three generations.....
me, our girl, and my Mom.
(and if you follow me on Facebook, you'll remember that she DOES NOT color her hair.
I DID NOT inherit that gene from her, obviously!)

This is something I need to print off and hang on my fridge!!!

I'll take four of these shirts, please!!!

Oh, my, but this is so me!
I've put back on several pounds from the weight I lost a couple of years ago.
Stress eating and the fact that every tooth in my head is a sweet tooth is getting me into trouble.
It's Monday again....
time to start afresh.....
so glad for God's mercies on me!!

Oh, yes it does.
Even on the coldest of  days, give me some SONshine and I'm a happy girl!

Speaking of happy girl....
that pretty girl on the right is one of my greatest blessings!  This was taken at our Ladies Night Out yesterday at church.

And, I've spent way too much time watching April trying to birth her baby.  I finally watched a giraffe live birth on YouTube so I could get on with my life....
😊

HOPE your Monday is Marvelous!

{ Friday Foto Friends #21 }

How can it already be April?
Mercy, this year is flying by!

It's already time again for our Friday Foto Friends link-up, too.

This is the cross that's decorated every year on Easter SONday morning at our church.  Our pastor says "the dead cross comes alive" with flowers that people bring and stick into the wire frame.

Isn't it pretty?

Happy Friday.....Happy Weekend!

Easter Morning, 2012!!!
Jack and I in front of the "living cross" at our church. The congregation was asked to bring live flowers and place in the chicken wire surrounding the cross.  It was beautiful!!!

Fashion Show Fundraiser!!

Yesterday was the Fashion Show held at our church to raise money for an upcoming mission trip to Guatemala.  I think there were close to 225 women there and the tables were all decorated so pretty and springy!!!  Ms. Judy Gardner Howell was the emcee of the show and she kindly brought a lot of her fashions from her shop, The Silk Purse, along with some ladies who model for her.  The highlight for me was seeing several of the ladies from our church model the clothing.....especially some of the older ladies who looked so very stylish!!!  We had such a good time....and I got an extra surprise when Jess decided to let me know at the last minute she was going to tag along with me!!!

I didn't get pictures of all the tables, but here is the table that my friend, Ms. Ruby, invited us to sit at.  She chose the colors for her table to coordinate with the hat and scarf that I crocheted for the fundraiser!!!  She's a sweetheart....and you even get to see my short....short haircut!!!

 Our pretty purple table....
....of course, purple is my favorite color in case y'all didn't already know that!!!
(and that's Ms. Judy with her upper half cut off...;-)
 Ms. Ruby made the most awesome homemade candy you've ever put in your mouth.  She had two full boxes just like this one that were auctioned off.  As a favor to each of her guests, she had individual boxes of the candy tied up in purple ribbons....and it was delicious....and didn't last long!!!
 My crocheted hat and scarf....displayed on the brand new "head" that hubby bought me.
 Isn't she gorgeous?!?!?

 Another view!!!
 Up close and personal view of Ms. Ruby's candy.....this stuff just melted in our mouths!!!
 This was the cupcake  table....didn't get a picture of the "main course" table which was the most amazing salad bar you've ever seen!!!
And, this is me with my precious friend, Ms. Ruby.  When we first started going to our new church, she and her husband Mr. Don were one of the first to make us feel so welcome and at home.  She's such a wonderful CHRISTian lady and I am so proud to call her my friend!!!
(see, I told you the hair is S-H-O-R-T!!!)
(....and I promise the shirt underneath all that black was PURPLE....
....it just doesn't show in the pic!!!)

Blessings,

Deb
