{ The Easy Way Out }

It was my turn in the prayer room.
I was handed all the cards and divided them equally among the four of us.
It was God who made sure I received this one.


No name was on the card.
Nothing to indicate who it was from.
I don't know if  they wanted forgiveness for themselves.
Or, were they asking for prayer for them to find it in their hearts to forgive another?

Forgiveness is a funny thing.
We want others to grant it to us,
but we often won't show that grace to others.
We nurse the grudge.
We ponder on it and talk about it to anyone who will listen.
It becomes that poison we drink expecting the other person to die.


I've come to realize (age and experience and wisdom),
that it's best to take the "easy way out".....
To take the path that's easier on my heart.....
and my sanity.
To listen to the voice that says.....
LET.IT.GO.
(sing it with me......Let it go.....Let it go)

As I held this card between my hands and prayed for the unknown person,
I asked God to let them go to their car in peace.
Either the peace of accepting His prompting to invite Him into their heart.....
or the peace of forgiving another!

I shared this picture that our grand-daughter colored on Instagram recently.  It made me realize that our girl certainly isn't prejudiced! She just doesn't see color (a statement my best friend made).  Wouldn't it make so much difference if the world saw things this way.....
if we didn't see color?

Maybe we need to look at things through the eyes of a child.

SONday Scripture.....

  Yesterday, as I sat and spent my quiet time with the Lord, I realized that although I didn't have control of an external situation that I'm going through, I still felt so peaceful inside.  Then, these words came to mind.....

"It is well with my soul."

Every now and then I feel God prompting me to sing to Him.  I was hesitant because my husband was still in bed and I didn't want to wake him up, but I did it anyway.....singing low and humming at times.

Are you going through something that has you frustrated and anxious and practically pulling your hair out trying to figure out what to do?  If so,  turn it over to the Lord and let Him handle it and ask Him to restore your joy and the peace to your heart, as ONLY HE can do!

Remembering my Daddy.....

When I was young, we had a console stereo player and my Daddy loved playing gospel albums. The Blackwood Brothers Quartet was one of them and this song was his favorite.  I always think of my precious Daddy when I hear it.

Friday Foto.....

I'm running behind again today.
Yesterday was spent trying to play catch-up.
Being without power for over 25 hours kinda put a hold on getting things accomplished!  And, for some reason the cleaning and laundry fairy thought they could just take a break, too.....
LOL!

This car was in front of us going thru the drive-thru at Chick-Fil-A recently.....
doesn't that just sum it all up!!

We're expecting another round of snow and ice this evening and tomorrow,
to be followed by rising temps and rain.
I do believe we live in EAST TENNESSEE....;-)

Friday Foto.....

Oh, how we're enjoying Pappy's extended time off to celebrate my......
B-I-G SIX-O!

We spent ALL DAY yesterday exploring Goodwill Stores and came home with a truck load of goodies, for not much $$$$$.

This particular Goodwill is in Asheville, NC.
One side is a training center,
the center portion is the Outlet.....
yes, Goodwill has an outlet of things that don't sell in the regular store.
And, another area is the "retail" store.
Let me just say.....
our grandkids racked up!!!

After working up an appetite digging thru table after table,
we had a "free" lunch at Cracker Barrel.
(Thanks, Ms. Jan for the awesome birthday gift)

I might share next week some of the goodies we got.....
one of them an answer to Pappy's prayer!!!

Ain't God good?
Oh, yes He is!!!
